About us

With its 10 000 employees and 300 sites, GROUPE SOS is one of Europe's foremost social and societal undertakings. For 30 years now, GROUPE SOS has been putting economic value creation at the service of the interests of the general public. In so doing, it provides responses to the issues of today's society by developing innovative solutions in its five main fields of activity. The actions undertaken by GROUPE SOS influence the lives of over a million people every year.

Basing its activities on the fight against different forms of social exclusion, GROUPE SOS has diversified its activities over the years and is able today to provide solutions for people at all levels in society, including those with few or no resources. GROUPE SOS has been motivated from the very beginning by a goal of social innovation in order to find solutions to the social issues of our times. By highlighting unnecessary costs and the ensuing wealth created, GROUPE SOS is able to show how certain expenses can allow significant savings to be made and in turn transformed into societal investments.

GROUPE SOS has developed a new way of conceiving an enterprise: regulated salary scales, absence of share-holders, profits reinvested in development.... In today's world it is possible to build a solid organization capable of creating durable economic activities whilst at the same time having a strong social impact.

Strengthened by its know-how and the management tools that it has developed, GROUPE SOS has incorporated numerous associations/organizations over the years. They have all developed synergies, professionalized their activities and pooled their expenses...

The challenges of tomorrow's economic, social and environmental issues can only be met through the joint efforts of public sector actors and the lucrative and non-lucrative private sector.

This section involves developing and providing crèche structures, sport activities and education, local sponsorships, accommodation, help and guidance to children and adolescents experiencing personal difficulties, in dangerous situations, or suffering from disabilities...

We provide help to over 10,000 children every year, adapting our actions to each particular case, and striving to maintain family ties whenever and as much as possible.

From the very young to young adults, we strive to give these children the same chances as children elsewhere.

Convinced that nobody is essentially un-employable, whether they be long-term unemployed people, unqualified young people, or people with difficult personal life histories, we provide (re-)integration contracts with businesses in our network of companies, as well as professional training in various fields.

By accompanying the development and financing of social enterprises in France and abroad we position ourselves within a global movement of long-term employability, making employment accessible and giving each individual a place in society.

Because it is not a profit-making organization GROUPE SOS is able to provide an efficient health-care programme based on the needs of individuals and communities and accessible to all, regardless of income.

kem.pngIn order to be able to provide services to people with few or no financial resources, we develop innovative solutions in favour of homeless persons, people suffering from addictions, people with HIV, socially instable people... Whenever possible, we also provide social assistance parallel to the provision of health-care. We strive to provide access to health care both in France and abroad.

At GROUPE SOS we believe in the idea of "social fertility": the idea that each individual has something to offer to the society in which s/he lives.

We thus develop the concept of "plural solidarity" and develop solidarity-based actions in favour of disabled or able-bodied persons who are either homeless or living in inadequate housing, both in France and abroad. We believe that we can reduce social exclusion and insecurity by constantly searching for and providing innovative solutions.

There are over a million and a half people in Francetoday over 85 years old, of which 25% are dependent. Assuming that the present demographic trends concerning life expectancy remain unchanged, the challenge will be to provide good quality care to every elderly person requiring it,  together with the help provided by families, and giving due respect to the dignity of the elderly, whatever their level of financial resources. Our aim is to reinvent the notion of care and support for the elderly, enabling them to be less dependent, and more involved in society.
