Hospital = Public sector? Clinic = private sector? Through its operating mode, GROUPE SOS offers an alternative option: the management of hospitals by an organization from the non-lucrative private sector.
After having taken over the management of the Jean Jaurès hospital (located in the east of Paris) in 2009, GROUPE SOS restructured the development plan around follow-on care, and rehabilitation for patients in hematology and palliative care, which needed to be addressed in this geographic area.
Since then, GROUPE SOS has taken over the management of 6 other hospitals located in the Ile-de-France (Paris metropolitan area) and Lorraine (north-east) regions of France. GROUPE SOS therefore contributes to maintaining healthcare services which are truly useful to the public in regions threatened by a phenomenon referred to as ‘medical desertification’.
